I Can't Make the Rain Stop

You’re telling me how everything is wrong

How no one cares

And it’s been too long

Since you knew what joy was

And I wish I knew what to do

I can’t make the rain stop

I can’t dry your tears

I can’t make your troubles go away

I can’t make the rain stop

I can’t even make you stay

You’re telling me you want to run away

Cause it’s too hard

And you’re not that strong

Yeah, life can be that way

And I don’t know how to help you

I can’t make the rain stop

I can’t dry your tears

I can’t make your troubles go away

I can’t make the rain stop

I can’t even make you stay

But when you’re

Too tired to sleep

Too sad to cry

Like it’s too cold to snow outside

And you don’t know why

I’ll be by your side
